The neighborhood is perched on an east-facing hillside above Edna Maguire Elementary School that divides Mill Valley and Corte Madera. The neighborhood is within easy reach of both these communities’ downtown areas and Highway 101.
Most homes are mid-century modern properties built in the 1960s, but there are also clusters of homes built during the 1980s and ‘90s. Scott Valley is within two miles of shopping, dining, and entertainment options in both Downtown Mill Valley and Corte Madera. Downtown Mill Valley offers a good selection of independent stores and restaurants plus live entertainment at
Sweetwater Music Hall and
Throckmorton Theatre.
The Village at Corte Madera is an upscale open-air shopping center anchored by Macy’s and Nordstrom department stores. Other retailers include premium brands such as Amazon 4-Star, Anthropologie, Apple, Banana Republic, J. Crew, Kiehl’s, L’Occitane, Lululemon Athletica, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Tommy Bahama, and Williams-Sonoma. Directly opposite The Village,

Veggie Grill. Just north of these two shopping centers on Highway 101, screens the latest releases in plush surroundings with stadium seating.
Things to Do
Scott Valley Swimming & Tennis Club offers fantastic facilities for recreation in the neighborhood. The club is entirely owned by its 400 members, and it’s a big part of Scott Valley’s community-oriented appeal. Covering seven acres, the club’s amenities include six tennis courts and a swimming pool. The tennis courts all feature a soft Plexicushion surface, and four are lighted for playing after dark. There’s also a practice tennis court with an automated ball machine. Members can take part in a range of adult and junior tennis programs every week.
The swimming pool is 25 yards long and six lanes wide. There are swimming lessons, classes, and swim teams for both children and adults. Additional amenities include a poolside café plus poolside picnic and barbeque areas, a shaded wading pool, an outdoor spa, a clubhouse, table tennis, and a fitness center with a cardio theater and personal trainers. The club organizes lots of social events such as summertime BBQs and winter holiday parties. During the summer, many local kids join the
Funderblast summer camp.
